Love All Swept Up

It doesn’t
matter—Artwork by Gene McCormick
I was born
without eyes,
living in
gray light,
in darker
stars,
in the universe.

I married
light to light—
you to me.
I wore
a purple sash,
you wore
a yellow flower,
in our blue sky.

The light
came on time—
I smile
in my skull,
love all swept up,

I taste you,
feel your eyes.
